In 1964, Helmut Diener, the only son of Otto Diener, began working in the family business. After the death of Otto Diener in 1966, he took over the company's commercial management, and in 1969, the company was taken over by Helmut Diener.

In 1972, the company building on the Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse was begun in order to realize expansion and modernization potential. At the beginning of 1974, the company could move into the 1200 m² building. As the Diener specialities became more and more popular, the production program kept shifting more from standard to special instruments.

Due to the amazingly fast development of CNC technology and the corresponding demand by the customers, the company began to produce a large number of customized articles from the area of bone surgery as so-called OEM goods in the early 90's. At the same time, the existing building in the Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse was expanded, providing nearly twice as much room today.

For this reason, sales went up successively, so that in the late 90's, sales in the bone surgery area were just as high as those of the Diener Special product range.
